Kim Named All-Tournament Team on Final Day of Big 12 Championship

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech's Rosalyn Kim was named to the Big 12 All-Tournament team on the final day of the Big 12 Women's Championship held at The Rawls Course and helped the Lady Raiders to a 11th place finish. Tech concluded the Big 12 Women's Championship at The Rawls Course never being able to recover from first round jitters. The team was within striking distance of fourth place during the final round, but couldn't catch a break. The Lady Raiders shot an 81-over 957 for the three-day tournament. Kim shot a final round six-over 79 to finish at 232 for the tournament and tied for tenth. It is Tech's first Big 12 All-Tournament team member since Brooke Lowrance in 1999. Senior's Megan Dowdy and Gloriana Soto carded rounds of 79 and 87, respectively in their final rounds as Lady Raiders. Dowdy finished tied for 23rd, which is her best finish at the Big 12 Championship and Soto tied for 56th. Sophomore Alex Gibson shot a six-over 80 and tied for 46th overall while fellow sophomore Jackie Smith rounded out the tournament with an eight-over 81 finishing with a 248 for the tournament. Smith tied for 52nd in her first Big 12 Women's Championship. No. 5-ranked Oklahoma State won the 2009 Big 12 Women's Championship shooting a 33-over 909. Texas A&M (922) was second and Oklahoma (938) was third. Tech graduates five seniors from this year's squad, but has a talented group of freshman coming in for the fall of 2010.
