LUBBOCK, Texas - The Lady Raiders golf team opened its fall season by shooting a 901 over three rounds of play to finish in eighth place in a tough 20-team field at the Ptarmigan Classic in Fort Collins, Colo. Monday and Tuesday.
"We got off to a solid start for the season," Tech coach Stacey Totman said. "We beat some quality teams. The freshmen rally stepped up well. I was very pleased."

Alex Gibson finished in 29th place with a nine-over 225, while Rosalyn Kim was right behind at 226. Freshman Stephanie Smith shot a 231 and Ulrika Van Niekerk came out with a 234.
