LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's golf team finished in sixth place among 14 nationally ranked teams at the Price's "Give em' Five" Intercollegiate in Las Cruces, N.M. The team shot an 899 for their best finish of the season.

Junior Stephanie Dukes carded a one-over par 217 (76, 70, 71) for a fourth place tie. In her second top 20 placing, sophomore Jackie Ey tied in 18th after shooting a 225 (77, 74, 74).

Senior Jennifer Newhouse, shooting a 229 (75, 76, 78), tied with teammate Megan Hull (78, 78, 73) in 33rd place. This is Hull's best 54-hole score and lowest round of 73.

Freshman Kim Kolb finished in 50th place after shooting 77, 79, 79. Competing as an individual Sheila Mendez finished in a 44th place tie after shooting a 232 (79, 75, 78), her best career finish.

Baylor University won the tournament and Jimin Kang of Arizona State walked away with the individual win.

Tech will be back in action Oct. 19-21 at the Stanford Intercollegiate in Palo Alto, Calif.
