Texas Tech Women's Golf Jumps to Third at New Mexico State

LAS CRUCES, N.M. - The Texas Tech University women's golf team jumped from a tie for fifth into third place after two rounds of the Diet Coke-Roadrunner Invitational.
The 54-hole tournament concludes with Sunday's final round on the par-72, 6,177-yard University Golf Course. The Red Raiders shot 17-over-par 305 on Saturday and stand at 618, 12 shots behind front-running New Mexico State (606). The host shot the lowest round of the day with a 14-over 302. TCU is second at 608.
Texas Tech junior Jamie Vannoy, who shot 5-over 77 on Saturday, is six shots back at 151 in a tie for sixth. TCU's Angela Stanford (145), who shot 4-over 76 today after a 3-under 69 on Friday, holds a one-shot advantage over SMU's Kelley King (146).
Freshman Jennifer Newhouse is tied for 13th at 154. She shot a second consecutivve 5-over 77 on Saturday. Sophomore Priscillia Hunt, who struggled to a 9-over 81 on Friday, improved to 2-over 74 today. She is tied for 18th at 155. Senior Brooke Lowrance is back in the pack in a tie for 32nd at 159. She shot 6-over 78 today.
Junior Heather Wrede, after a 5-over 77 on Saturday, is tied for 58th at 164. Playing as an individual, junior Alana Soliz is tied for 39th at 160.
