Tech in Fifth After Day One of the Challenge at Wolfdancer

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech women's golf squad sits in fifth place midway through the second round, as only one person shot par in the first round, after playing the tough Wolfdancer golf course at the Hyatt Lost Pines Resort.
The Lady Raiders are in fifth place as they shot a 39-over through a round and a half. Colorado leads the tournament at 32-over and Idaho is second at 34-over.
Senior Megan Dowdy is the top Lady Raider after shooting a seven-over for 10th place She shot a four-over 76 in the first round and is three-over through 13 holes in the second round. Sophomore Jackie Smith, playing as an individual, is tied for 15th at eight-over. She carded a seven-over in the first round and is one-over through six holes in the second.
Senior Ulrika Van Niekerk struggled in the first round carding an 11-over but through nine holes in the second round is one-under and in a tie for 23rd. Right behind van Niekerk is sophomore Alex Gibson at 12-over .Gibson has played seven holes at one-over in round two and shot an 11-over 83 in the first round.
Junior Rosalyn Kim shot an 85 for the first round and is 13-over total after eight holes in the second round to sit in 35th. Senior Tracy Stanford is in a tie for 59th after recorded an 18-over through 12 holes in the second round. She carded an 82 during her first round.
The Lady Raiders continue round two Monday morning at 8 a.m.
