Texas Tech Women's Golf Finishes Sixth at Stanford IntercollegiateSTANFORD, Calif. - The Texas Tech University women's golf team finished sixth at the Stanford Women's Intercollegiate golf tournament, firing a three-round total of 896at the par 73, 6,190-yard Stanford Golf Course. Host Stanford (865) won the title by 13 shots over second-place Arizona State (878). Arizona (886) finished third, Oregon (892) fourth and LSU fifth (893). Texas A&M (911) was ninth and Oklahoma State (914) tenth. Head coach Jeff Mitchell's squad was led by junior Brooke Lowrance (219),who fired a 2-under-par 71 on Sunday to finish tied for seventh. Freshman Priscillia, who had a 1-over 74 on Sunday, tied for 11th (221). Other Tech golfers included senior Kristin Kight (225, t28th), sophomore Jamie Vannoy (232, t54th) and junior Beth Covington (234, t63rd). Stanford's Hilary Homeyer fired a 2-under 71 Sunday to secure a three-shot win. Her 211, which included a 6-under 67 on Saturday, was three shots better than New Mexico State's AJ Eathorne. The Red Raiders will wrap up the fall season Sunday-Tuesday, Nov. 2-4 at the New Mexico State Diet-Coke Roadrunner at the University Golf Course.
