LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's golf team travels to Parrish, Fla., to compete in the Central Regional Invitational on Mon.-Tue., Feb. 25-26. Texas Tech will be one of six Big 12 schools scheduled to compete in the 54-hole tournament hosted by Michigan State University.

Looking to lead the Red Raiders in the first two tournaments of the Spring campaign is senior Jennifer Newhouse. The Bryan, Texas, native had a career best finish tying for sixth place at the Comcast/Dick McGuire Invitational in the Fall 2001 season.

"I feel very confident to have Jennifer leading the team into the first two tournaments. She is an extraordinary leader and team player," said head coach Stacey Totman. "Her leadership on the team will be a positive one for the young girls on the team. I think this will be her moment to shine."

Senior Stephanie Dukes suffered an injury two weeks ago and will be unable to compete in the first two tournaments of the Spring season. The Texas native is expected to swing back into action at the University of Texas tournament next month.

The first two rounds will be played Mon., Feb. 25th on the par-72 course at the River Wilderness Country Club with an 8 a.m. shotgun start. Final round of play will begin Tue., Feb. 26th at 8 a.m.
