Lubbock, Texas - The No.42-women's golf team will head to Houston, Texas to compete in the 11th annual Texas A&M "Mo"morial Invitational at the Blackhorse Golf Club. This tournament begins the long stretch for the women's golf team who will be competing in three tournaments in the month of March. Tech is coming off their fourth top 10 finish of the season with a ninth place finish at the NCAA Central Regional, shooting a 926.

On the season Tech is led by Junior Sheila Mendez who finished tied for 23rd at the NCAA Central Regional shooting a 231, and posts a 76.13 stroke average on the season. Senior Jackie Ey and junior Kim Kolb, who each post a 76.67 season stroke average closely follow their Tech teammate. At the NCAA Central Regional the two Tech veterans finished tied for 52nd and tied for 23rd, respectively.

The Red Raider women's golf team will seek to improve on last year's finish of 7th at the Texas A&M "Mo"morial. This year's field includes tough competition like No.33 A&M, No.34 Baylor and No.36 Northwestern, a 14-team field in all.

Play will begin March 1 at the Blackhorse Golf Club with 36-holes to be played on Monday and the final 18-holes to be played on Tuesday.
