HOUSTON, Texas - The Texas Tech women's golf team posted a 7th place finish in the GTE "Mo" Morial, Tuesday at Pine Forest Country Club.

The team stood just three strokes off the lead and in third place after 36 holes, but produced its worst stroke total of the tournament in its third and final 18-hole round of the tournament. Tuesday's team total, 331, spoiled first and second round scores of 311 and 309.

Despite the disappointing finish, Texas Tech managed to finish in the top half of the 16-team field. Jennifer Newhouse and Jame Vannoy paced Tech tying for 11th and 16th place respectively.
