Tech Headed to Nevada for UNLV Spring Invitational

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's golf squad will play in the UNLV Spring Invitational starting tomorrow morning at 7:30 a.m. (MST) at the Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nev.

Senior Megan Dowdy is coming off her best tournament spring finishing ninth at the Aztec Invitational and is shooting a 75.4 average this spring. Junior Rosalyn Kim had her best finish of the year at the Aztec Invitational. She carded a 226 finishing tied for ninth place.

Ulrika Van Niekerk will try to improve on her slow start. The senior is shooting four strokes more than her season average of 75.3. Sophomore Alex Gibson has a 79 scoring average this spring and a 76.9 average for the year.

Sophomore Robyn Scott will play in her first tournament of the spring. Scott played in two tournaments during the fall and had a 82.2 scoring average.

The field is a tough one as No. 10 Georgia, No. 23 Kent State, No. 29 Oregon, No. 40 UNLV and No. 41 Washington all will be playing. Tech goes into the tournament as the No. 56 ranked team by Golfweek/Sagrin.
