Lubbock - The women's golf team shot a 632 to place sixth in the San Antonio shootout today. The team finished in front of Big 12 opponent Kansas State who finished in seventh. Tech beat four teams who were previously ranked by the Golfstat National Rankings: Kansas State (47th), Michigan (26th), Illinois (72nd) and Iowa (100th).

Stephanie Dukes was Tech's lead finisher with a first round score of 77 and second round score of 76. Duke's tie for seventh place is her best finish since she tied for ninth at the Mountain View Collegiate. Priscilla Hunt shot a 77,79 to tie for 15th place. Hunt's previous best finish of 23rd was also at the Mountain View Collegiate.

Jennifer Newhouse shot a 160 with a first round score of 76 and second round score of 84, tying for 24th place. Tamara Munsch shot 85,84 to place her in 55th place. Allison Louth achieved her best finish of the year in 56th with a score of 171. Louth's previous best finish was at the Texas A & M "Mo"morial Tournament.

Indiana won the tournament with a score of 608, six strokes ahead of second place Kent State. Indiana's Natalie Tucker shot a 146 to win the individual title.

Tech will stroke back into action April 9-10 at the University of Oklahoma.
