LUBBOCK, Texas - The Big 12 Conference released its 2002 Women's Golf Academic All-Big 12 Team honoring 39 student-athletes for their academic achievements. Thirty-four student-athletes received first-team honors, including three Red Raiders.

Jennifer Newhouse and Stephanie Dukes receive their second All-Big 12 first-team selection. Newhouse is a senior marketing major from Bryan, Texas. Dukes, a native of North Richland Hills, Texas, is a junior majoring in horticulture.

Sophomore Jackie Ey is also a first-team selection, receiving her first academic honor as a Red Raider. The 5-foot-9 sophomore is a public relations major from San Antonio, Texas.

To qualify student-athletes must maintain a 3.0 grade point average or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 60 percent of the team's scheduled contests. First-team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.2 or better grade-point average, while the second-team are those who have a 3.0 to 3.19 GPA. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence.
