LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech sophomore Kimmy Hill will be the lone representative for the Lady Raiders this postseason after being selected as an individual for the 2014 NCAA Central Regional at Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Hill was one of 18 individual players selected to the three regional sites. The selections were based on the current women's golf player rankings. The top ranked players not on a regional qualifying team were selected.
The Tech sophomore finished at 10-over par and in a tie for 24th at the Big 12 Championship last week at UT Golf Club in Austin, Texas. She shot a final round 1-over 73.
Hill had four top 10 finishes and three top five finishes in 10 events this season. She averaged a team-best 74.3 per round in 28 rounds. Hill had carded a career-low, 5-under 67 in the final round of the Briar's Creek Invitational in March to lead Tech to its second team title of the season while finishing fifth individually.
A total of 378 participants have been selected for regional competition. Of these players, 126 will advance to the championships finals. Eight teams and two individuals will advance from each regional.
The championships finals will be held May 20-23 at Tulsa Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma and will be co-hosted by the University of Tulsa and the Tulsa Sports Commission.
