HOUSTON, Texas - The 42nd-ranked Texas Tech women's golf team fell to 17th place at the 1999 NCAA Golf Championship West Regional after shooting a second round total 324, giving it a two round score of 636.

The tournament is being held at the 6119 yard, par 72 Pine Forest Country Club. Texas A&M is the host school.

Leading Texas Tech and tying for 43rd overall is senior Brooke Lowrance at 155. She shot 77 in the second round. Junior Jamie Vannoy and senior Beth Covington are tied for 66th place at 159. Junior Heather Wrede is tied for 97th after shooting a second round 90, giving her a total of 168. Freshman Jennifer Newhouse is tied for 101st at 173.

Arizona overtook Stanford for first place in the tournament at 588. The Lady Cardinal are second at 591.

Arizona's Jenna Daniels continues to lead the event after shooting a women's collegiate course record 67 in the second round giving her a total of 137 for the tournament. Julie Dunn of Stanford is in second place at 142.

The top 10 teams and two individuals will advance to the NCAA Championships on May 19-22 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, joining the top nine squads and two individuals from the NCAA East Regional.

The three-day tournament will conclude with 18 holes tomorrow, May 8 with the first tee time slated for 7:30 am.
