LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's golf team wrapped up the third day of competition at the 2004 West Regionals in Palo Alto, Calif., at the Stanford University Golf Course, today. The Lady Raiders shot 309 on the day, bringing their three-day total to 922. Tech finished in a tie for 13th place.

Junior Kim Kolb led the Lady Raiders for the third straight day, and finished the third round in a three-way tie for 15th. Kolb shot a 76, bringing her three-day total to 221. Senior Jackie Ey and junior Megan Hull both finished the day in a six-way tie for 57th. Ey shot a 75, bringing her three-day total to 233, while Hull shot an 80, bringing her three-day total to 233 as well. Junior Sheila Mendez finished the third round in an eight-way tie for 76th place, shooting a 79 on the day. Mendez compiled a three-day score of 237. Rounding out play for the Lady Raiders was freshman Leslie Wall, who shot a 79 in the third round, which brought her three-day total up to 239. Wall finished in a five-way tie for 85th.

No. 2 UCLA topped the West Regionals with a three-day total score of 861. Following close behind in second place was No. 3 California with a total of 868, and No. 20 Stanford finished third with a total score of 883. No. 11 Washington finished fourth with a score of 892, No. 15 Georgia finished fifth with a score of 900, and with a total score of 901, No. 6 Ohio State finished in sixth. No. 36 Arizona State captured the seventh place spot with a total score of 908. No. 65 Washington State, No. 11 Texas, and No. 40 Oregon, all shooting 913, finished in a three-way tie for eighth place, which will be broken through a playoff.

Despite a strong showing at the 2004 West Regionals, Tech will not advance to the Championship.
