LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech Lady Raider golfer Megan Hull (Mansfield, Texas/Mansfield) shot in 73 in U.S. Women's Open Local Qualifying at Canyon Creek Country Club in Richardson, Texas, and faces one more round of qualifying for the 2003 U.S. Open, slated July 3-6 at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club in North Plains, Ore.

Hull advances to the sectional round of qualifying, scheduled June 11 at The Champions in Houston. The sectional round is the final stop in qualifying for the Open field.

Hull, a sophomore from Mansfield, Texas, was one of the Lady Raiders top performers this season and helped lead Texas Tech to its highest ranking ever (40th) under second-year head coach Stacey Totman. Hull finished the season with a 77.9 stroke average and finished in the top 10 of three events. Her third-place tie at the UC-Irvine Anteater Invitational during the spring was her highest finish of the season.
