LUBBOCK, Texas - A day after her teammate Gabby Dominguez qualified for the U.S. Women's Open, Kim Kaufman found success of her own Friday as the Texas Tech junior won a sectional round to advance to the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship.

Kaufman, who was playing at the Keller Golf Club in Maple Wood, Minn., fired a 1-under 71 to advance to the tournament for a second-straight year. She also won her sectional qualifier a year ago as well.

The Clark, S.D. native finished among the top 20 in the stroke-play portion of last year's tournament before falling in the opening round of the match play format.

Kaufman was named an honorable mention All-American just a week ago after she and Dominguez both finished tied for eighth at the NCAA Championship. She finished the year averaging 73.0 strokes per round, just shy of Dominguez' new school record of 72.8.

The 2012 U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship will be played June 18-23 at the Neschanic Valley Golf Course in Neshanic Station, N.J.
