Elin Arvidsson failed to reach match play Tuesday at the British Open Amateur Championship.

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech golfer Elin Arvidsson could not get past 36 holes of stroke play Monday and Tuesday as she was not one of the 64 players to advance to match play at the British Open Amateur Championship.

Arvidsson, a Falkenberg, Sweden native, fired an 11-over 83 opening round Monday before coming back with a 10-over card this morning. She finished tied for 115th in the 191-player field.

The freshman was making her first amateur appearance this summer after a successful first year in scarlet and black where she averaged 76.6 strokes over 33 rounds. She is one of six Tech players scheduled to return to the links next season as well.

The next Lady Raider scheduled for amateur action is Gabby Dominguez when she challenges the best players in the world at the U.S. Women's Open, July 5-8, at Blackwolf Run in Kohler, Wisc.
