LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech All-American golfers Gabby Dominguez and Kim Kaufman will face the top amateurs in the country one more time this summer as they tee off the Royale Cup Canadian Women's Amateur Championship Tuesday afternoon in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada.
The four-day tournament, which is being played at the Lethbridge Country Club, features 156 of the top amateur players from around the world competing in a 72-hole stroke play format. The field will be cut to just 70 players following Wednesday's second round.
This will be the second appearance this summer for Kaufman after she tied for third at the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship in late June. The incoming senior was among the top 64 players to advance to the match play portion of the tournament where she reeled off five-straight victories before falling to Ashlan Ramsey in the semifinals.
Dominguez, meanwhile, will be competing for the third time this summer after already taking part in the U.S. Public Links with Kaufman along with the U.S. Women's Open in early July. The tournament marked her first career major appearance for the 2012 All-American.
She will tee off at 2:36 p.m. CT this afternoon with Kaufman following just 11 minutes later as the two will be among the final players to start the opening round.
Two other Lady Raiders are also competing this week as Beverly Mendoza is currently playing in the Women's Trans National Amateur Championship while Hannah Arnold is at the Texas State Amateur Open held in McKinney.
