LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's golf program will depart for a six-day tour of Canada Sunday where the Lady Raiders will play two of the premier courses north of the border.
The Lady Raiders will travel to Whistler, British Columbia to play at the Cheateau Whistler Golf Club along with the Nicklaus North Golf Club which is named after golf legend Jack Nicklaus.
"We are really looking forward to our team trip to Canada," fourth-year head coach JoJo Robertson said. "This will be a great opportunity for us to travel and spend time together as a team outside of the college golf setting. We have a great week planned with whitewater rafting, hiking, paddle boats, and several rounds of golf at some beautiful courses. We are excited to get this season started and think this will be a fun way to do it."
Robertson will be bringing four of her seven members off her 2012-13 roster in returning senior All-Americans Gabby Dominguez and Kim Kaufman along with junior Hannah Arnold and sophomore Elin Arvidsson.
The Lady Raiders, who are coming off their third-consecutive postseason appearance last season, will play one-day competition against a Canadian club Thursday at the Nicklaus North Golf Course.
Under NCAA guidelines, athletics teams can participate in a foreign tour once every four years for the purpose of competition along with gaining a cultural experience.
