LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's golf program will open the 2012-13 season Monday morning when the Lady Raiders tee off at the Ptarmigan Ram Classic held in Windsor, Colo.

The Lady Raiders, who finished a program-best fourth at the event last year, will be playing in the tournament for a sixth-consecutive year. Action begins with 36 holes Monday followed by another 18 Tuesday morning.

"We're obviously excited to start our season once again in Colorado," fourth-year head coach JoJo Robertson said. "We've had success at this tournament the past couple years so hopefully we can play well and leave ourselves in contention during the final round."

Robertson will send the same lineup out Monday morning that finished fourth a year ago in seniors Gabby Dominguez and Kim Kaufman, juniors Beverly Mendoza and Hannah Arnold along with sophomore Elin Arvidsson.

Dominguez and Kaufman, Tech's returning All-Americans from 2011, led Tech at the event last year with Dominguez finishing tied for fifth and Kaufman a stroke back in a tie for ninth overall. The performance marked the second-straight year Kaufman had recorded a top-10 finish at the event after wrapping the 2010 tournament in fourth.

Arnold started last season with her first career top-20 performance as she finished tied for 17th overall. Arvidsson, meanwhile, concluded the event tied for 29th while Mendoza finished a few strokes back in a tie for 52nd.

To repeat last year's performance, the Lady Raiders will have to navigate a challenging 17-team field that includes seven squads that finished among the top 60 in the final Golfweek rankings last season.

Tech wrapped the 2011-12 season ranked 32nd in the Golfweek rankings, third-highest in the field behind only No. 11 Colorado and No. 17 Baylor. The Lady Bears are the only Big 12 team besides Tech in the field.

The tournament is set for a 9:30 a.m. CT shotgun start Monday morning. Fans can keep up with the results throughout the day at www.golfstat.com.
