ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The Texas Tech women's golf team turned in a 17th team finish at the Dick McGuire Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M., in the team's first action of the fall season.


The Lady Raiders fired a final round 309 on Wednesday to complete the tournament with a team total of 928, meanwhile Pepperdine earned the tournament title with a total score of 873.


Sophomore Valerie Tan finished the tournament as the Lady Raiders' top player, turning in a third round 76 to complete the tournament in a tie for 41st place with a score of 228. Junior Marla Troester was Tech's second highest finisher, in a tie for 62nd place with a 13-over par tournament score of 232. Rounding out the Tech contingency at the tournament were freshman Urika van Nieker, who scored a 235, senior Ashley Slavich, with a 237, and junior Christine Kovalcik, with a 246.


Competing as an individual, freshman Brynn Anderson fired a third round 80 to finish the tournament with a 22-over par score of 241.
