Kim Kaufman was named Golfweek's Player of the Fall this week.

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech golfer Kim Kaufman was named the Golfweek Magazine Player of the Fall this week after the senior finished atop the publication's individual rankings.

Kaufman moved to the top spot in Golfweek's individual rankings earlier this week after recording her first career victory in late October at the Landfall Tradition. It was her third top-five performance this year as well.

The Clark, S.D. native closed the fall averaging a team-best 71.5 strokes per round as she was among the top-15 individuals in all four events. She opened the season with a second-place showing at the Ptarmigan Ram Classic and followed weeks later by finishing fifth at the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic.

The award marks the first time in school history a Tech player has been honored as Golfweek's top player in either the fall or spring. Kaufman was also the publication's Golfer of the Week award in late October.
