Tech's Jennifer Wood Named to GTE Academic All-District 6

LUBBOCK, Texas -- Texas Tech sophomore Jennifer Wood has been named to the 1996-97 GTE Academic All-District VI Women's Fall/Winter At-Large Team.

Wood, who carries a 4.0 Grade Point Average in Public Relations, is one of three soccer players who were named to the 10-woman team Tuesday.

Texas Tech posted a 13-8 record last fall with Wood starting all 21 games as a defender. She recorded 12 shots on goal but did not score.

She was named to the Southwest Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll as a freshman in 1995.

She has been named to the President's List (4.00 Grade Point Average) three times. The Spring, Texas, native will now advance to the national ballot.
