Assistant Soccer Coach Leaves Texas Tech

LUBBOCK, Texas - Women's assistant soccer coach Cathy Reid has left Texas Tech to continue her education at the College of Health Sciences Community Hospital of Roanoke Valley.

Reid, who was primarily responsible for recruiting, on-field training, and team academics, will work toward obtaining her degree in occupational therapy.

"Cathy did a great job for us was a great job for us. She was a great role model for our kids both on and off the field. We are happy for her, but we will miss her a great deal," head soccer coach Diane Nichols said.

A graduate of James Madison University, Reid was named All-America in 1992. Prior to that she played at the University of Central Florida under the direction of US Olympic team member Michelle Akers.
