Red Raiders Travel to Waco for Midweek Match

LUBBOCK, Texas -- The Texas Tech women's soccer team will put their 4-0 Big 12 record to test tomorrow as they face Baylor at 4 p.m. in Waco. The Bears are currently ranked ninth out of the 50 teams in the Central Region according to the weekly NSCA/Umbro poll.

Sophomore Nikki Hales leads Baylor with six goals, one assist and 13 points. She is followed by sophomore forward Molly Cameron who has three goals, four assists, and ten points.

Freshman goalkeeper Dawn Greathouse has started in all five games, racking up 442 minutes of play. She has a 4-1 record with one goal against and a goals against average of .20.

Baylor defeated Kansas on Sunday in a 1-0 overtime win. Cameron made the game winning goal for Baylor in the second sudden death overtime period. The Bears are currently 4-1 Big 12 Conference action.

In the last meeting between the Red Raiders and Baylor, Tech was shutout 1-0 in Lubbock.

"Baylor is really very tough. If they click on every cylinder then they are awfully hard to beat," Texas Tech Head Coach Felix Oskam said.

Texas Tech is 4-2 on the season and 4-0 in Big 12 action. Sophomore forward Kristy Franz leads Tech with six goals, four assists and 16 points on the season. Freshman goalkeeper Kellie McCallister has started in all six games. She has made 36 saves and has 10 goals against in 566 minutes of play. Her goals against average stands at 1.61.
