Red Raiders Travel to Colorado for Final Big 12 Match
Colorado College up First for Tech
LUBBOCK, Texas --After wrapping up their 1997 home season last weekend, the Red Raiders will now embark on a five game road swing that will see them end their Big 12 campaign.
The first stop on that trip will be a game against Colorado College tomorrow at 4 p.m. in Colorado Springs. The Tigers are 8-5-2 on the season and ranked ninth in the Central Region. They are led by Martina Holan, who has 27 points on 11 goals and five assists. Goalkeeper Robyn Bilski has started in all 15 games for the Tigers and has a goals against average of .798. She has 95 saves on the season.
On Sunday, the Red Raiders will wrap up conference play against Colorado at 1 p.m. The Buffaloes are 3-9 on the season and 3-3 in Big 12 action. They are led by Donna Holyman with four gouals and two assists this year. Goalkeeper Sloane Cox has a goals against average of 1.44 with 75 saves in her 801 minutes of play. The last meeting between the two teams had the Red Raiders claiming a 2-1 victory in Lubbock.
Texas Tech is 5-9 overall and 4-5 in Big 12 action. they are currently in fifth place in the the conference standings. Sophomore forward Kristy Fratnz is leading the Red Raiders and the Big 12 in points with 31. She had 13 goals and five assist this season.
