Frantz Named to All-Region Soccer Team

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech sophomore Kristy Frantz was named to the NSCAA/Umbro 1997 All-Region soccer team today.

The talented forward finished the 1997 soccer season as the Red Raiders' top scorer. She collected 14 goals and five assists for a total of 33 points this year. Frantz led Tech in several offensive catagories including goals scored, assists and points.

"This is a great honor for Kristy and the Texas Tech program," said woman's soccer head coach Felix Oskam. "Being recognized as one of the best in this region is certainly an honor. Kristy definitely deserves this. Not only because of what she has meant to this team, but because of what she means to this program."

Frantz has received several honors this season. She was also selected to the All-Big 12 Conference second team and the Academic All-Big 12 first team earlier this year.
