Texas Tech Earns First Conference Win in Women's Soccer with 1-0 Victory October 12, 1998 NORMAN, Okla. - The Texas Tech women's soccer team collected its first conference win of the season with a 1-0 victory over Kansas Monday afternoon in Norman, Okla. The game between the two teams was originally scheduled for Oct. 4 in Lawrence, but was postponed due to bad weather. Tech improves to 4-4-2 overall, 1-2-1 in the Big 12 while Kansas drops to 5-7-1 overall, 1-3-1 in league play. Senior forward Amy Rutstein tallied the game-winner for Tech, connecting on a shot from eight yards out, going one-on-one with the Jayhawk goalkeeper. She has scored all of Tech's four game-winning goals this season. After playing eight of their first 10 games on the road, the Red Raiders finish up the regular season with seven consecutive home games. Oklahoma State comes to Lubbock for a Friday afternoon contest beginning at 4 p.m. Tech faces Oklahoma Sunday with a 1 p.m. kickoff scheduled. All games will take place at R.P. Fuller Stadium on the campus of Texas Tech.
