LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's soccer team extended its winning streak to three games with a 3-0 win over Oklahoma in a Big 12 Conference match-up Sunday afternoon in Lubbock. The Red Raiders improve to 6-4-2 overall, 3-2-1 in league play while the Sooners drop to 7-7 overall, 1-5 in conference play.

Junior forward Kristy Frantz got Tech on the scoreboard early at 11:23 off a feed from Jennifer Hamm. Senior forward Amy Rutstein continued her torrid scoring pace, collecting two more goals for the Red Raiders. Her first goal of the day came with 14 seconds remaining in the first half as Lizzy Biles blasted a shot off the left wing which rebounded off the Sooner goalkeeper. Frantz picked up the loose ball, touched it to Rutstein who tapped the ball into the net. Tech allowed only one shot on goal during the first half while taking 10 shots on goal.

Tech solidified the lead with its third goal 35 seconds into the second half. The Frantz-Rutstein combination worked again as Frantz led a pass to Rutstein who then found the back of the net.

Texas Tech has allowed only one goal in its last five games. Freshman goalkeeper Brittney Peese earned her third shutout of the season, her second of the week.

Tech continues its extended homestand with a contest against #18 Baylor Wednesday at R.p. Fuller Stadium. Gametime is 4 p.m.
