BOULDER, Colo. - - The Colorado Buffaloes scored once in each half, and a pair of sure goals were blocked by defenders, as Colorado took a 2-0 victory over Texas Tech Friday afternoon.

The homestanding Buffaloes went on top early with a goal from Zoe Pascow, assisted by Andrea Matassa and Allison Gausman. The goal was the first of senior Pascow's career.

Colorado held the 1-0 advantage at the half, but Tech came out pressuring after the break. The Red Raiders found Buffs goalie Whitney Peterson out of the net about 15 minutes into the second half after a scramble in front, and Lindsey Scott blasted a shot towards the net. But two Colorado defenders stood on the goal line and stopped the ball, preventing a Tech goal.

Some 10 minutes later Peterson wandered out again, and this time Carrie Graham's shot was blocked off the chest of a Colorado defender.

The Buffs then added the back-breaker with nine minutes left in the match. Matassa served a corner kick to the near post, and Lindsey Galas headed it into the net for a 2-0 win.

Every Tech player played in the match, with everyone contributing well. Tech keeper Brittney Peese kept her squad in the match, making seven saves.

The Red Raiders end their season 4-14 overall, 2-8 in the Big 12. With the win, Colorado qualified for next weekend's Big 12 Tournament in San Antonio, Texas.
