LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's soccer team could not get past a stingy Nebraska defense and Texas Tech suffered a 7-0 loss to the ninth-ranked Cornhuskers Friday afternoon at R.P. Fuller Stadium. Tech falls to a 7-6-3 overall record, 3-4-2 in Big 12 play while Nebraska improves to 14-2-1, 9-0 in league play.

Nebraska's seven goals were the most allowed by a Texas Tech soccer team since Texas A&M beat Tech, 8-0, on Oct. 11, 1996. In their last four meetings, Nebraska has outscored the Red Raiders, 17-0.

Junior forward Lindsey Eddleman scored Nebraska's first goal early on in the game (3:43). The next six goals were split at three each by senior forward Kim Engesser and freshman forward Kelly Rheem.

Tech looks to redeem itself and secure a position in the Big 12 Conference Tournament next weekend with its final home game of the season on Sunday as the Iowa State Cyclones visit R.P. Fuller Stadium. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m. Anyone bringing in their ticket stub from Saturday's home football game against Missouri will be admitted free to Sunday's soccer game.
