LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's soccer team fell in the team's season finale on Friday night as they lost to the Baylor Bears 4-0 on a cold and wet night at R. P. Fullers Stadium. The Red Raiders finish the season with a 2-17 overall record and a 0-10 mark in the Big 12. The match was the 76th consecutive and final start for the Red Raiders lone senior, Lindsey Wile (Austin, Texas).

Tech, looking to win its first conference game of the season, wanted to come out early and establish an offensive push by starting five forwards in the match, but it was Baylor who got on the board early, with two goals in the first ten minutes. April Robinson gave the Bears an early 1-0 lead when she beat goalkeeper Megan Knauss (Tigard, Oregon) one on one at the 3:54 mark of the first period. Baylor added another goal little over four minutes later, when Kate Hensman recovered a rebound and found room past Knauss for a 2-0 Baylor lead. The Red Raiders kept the pressure on the Bears defense, taking 12 shots in the half and allowing only nine Baylor shots. For the game, Tech out shot Baylor by a 21-18 margin. Wile left the game midway through the period with a knee injury and did not return.

In the second half, the Red Raiders kept up the pressure on the Bears forcing nine shots in the period, but could not close the gap as Baylor added two goals in the frame. In the 52nd minute, it was Tiffany Boshers who broke in one on one against Beth Lippert (Woodinville, Wash.), who replaced Knauss at the beginning of the second period, and gave Baylor a 3-0 lead. Ryan Lee fired a crossing pass that deflected off the leg of sophomore defender Allison Seifert (Albuquerque, New Mexico) for the final tally of the match. Junior midfielder Kerri Campbell (Duncanville, Texas) led the Red Raiders with five shots in the contest.
