Red Raiders Lose, 3-0, to Iowa State in Women's Soccer November 1, 1998 LUBBOCK, Texas - It was simply put -- winner of the Iowa State-Texas Tech women's soccer game advances to the 1998 Big 12 Conference Tournament. The Red Raiders were handed their third shutout in the last four games, enroute to a 3-0 loss to the Iowa State Cyclones Sunday afternoon at R.P. Fuller Stadium. Texas Tech closes out its season with a 7-7-3 overall record, 3-5-2 in Big 12 play while Iowa State improves to 10-7-1, 5-5 in league play. Not finishing their shots off the opportunites created played a major role again as Tech outshot the Cyclones, 17-6, but could not find the back of the net. Iowa State got on the scoreboard at 16:58 as Patti Reed knocked in a ball off a corner kick from Lindsey Rector. The Cyclones gathered their second goal at 33:34 as Rector hit a shot over the head of Tech goalkeeper Lisa Foreman. Iowa State put the game out of reach when Erica Florez stole the ball deep in Tech territory and connected after going one-on-one with Foreman at the 71:55 mark.
