LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech soccer coach Felix Oskam announced today the hiring of Jamie Woods as assistant coach, filling the opening created by Amy Dyksterhuis who resigned in December for personal reasons.

Woods, who played for Oskam during the 1996-99 seasons and was a two-time team captain is excited to be a member of the scarlet and black after a year away from Tech.

"It is awesome being back here at Tech," stated Woods. "I have so much pride in this program and I know and have a good relationship with both Felix and Topper." That was one of the reasons that as early as last spring while a student assistant Woods expressed an interest in an assistant coaching position.

Her duties will range from coaching to recruiting according to Oskam. "She can really sell Tech and has ties to both Colorado and New Mexico which will really help recruiting."

As a defender Woods started in 68 games scoring three goals recording two assists.
