Red Raiders Open Spring With 3-0 Shutout of West Texas A&M|

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech soccer team opened its 2013 spring season with a 3-0 shutout of West Texas A&M Friday at the John Walker Soccer Complex.
Three separate Red Raiders found the back of the net as Tech scored two of its three goals in the second half and earned its seventh consecutive shutout in spring play dating back to the 2012 spring opener.
Texas Tech freshman and 2012 All-American Janine Beckie opened the scoring for the Red Raiders punching a cross from sophomore Jaelene Hinkle into the back of the net in just the third minute of action.
Tech held a 1-0 advantage heading into the halftime break before quickly finding the back of the net once again in the opening minutes of the second half. Texas Tech's offense found its rhythm as sophomore midfielder Erin Inman put the Red Raiders on top 2-0 in the 58th minute of play with a long strike from the top of the penalty box.
The Red Raider attack didn't let up as Briana Rohmer put gave Tech a commanding 3-0 advantage in the 67th minute with a goal off her own deflection just in front of the keeper.
The Red Raiders will host their second and final home match of the 2013 spring season Saturday at the John Walker Soccer Complex. Texas Tech will square off with the Austin Nationals with first kick set for 1 p.m.
