FT. WORTH, Texas - Jessica Fuston scored one goal and earned an assist Saturday as she helped Texas Tech close its spring season with a 4-0 shutout victory over TCU Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Red Raiders ended the spring with an impressive 4-0-1 overall record while shutting out all five opponents.

The Red Raiders got on the board early when freshman Jaelene Hinkle beat three defenders down the left side and fed Fuston inside the box where she put it passed the TCU goalkeeper to give Tech a 1-0 lead.

The early momentum proved to be all Texas Tech would need as the Red Raiders went on to score three more times en route to the convincing victory over the Horned Frogs, who are set to join the Big 12 Conference in 2012.

The ensuing goals came from Hayley Haagsma, Paige Strahan and Leah Christensen.

Texas Tech will now look towards preparing for the fall season as it brings back a dangerous squad, one that includes 75 percent of its minutes and 70 percent of its scoring from the 2011 season. The Red Raiders earned their highest conference finish in program history in 2011 ending the season in fourth overall.
