The Red Raider Club Tailgate Tour is an event that brings its members together with selected head coaches of various sports and athletics department administration. The February Recruiting Reviews took place in Dallas, Houston, Lubbock and Midland and saw record crowds in each city with a total of over 2,400 Red Raiders in attendance. The May portion of the Tailgate Tour begins in Amarillo on May 15 and also features Coach Kingsbury and Athletics Director Kirby Hocutt.
"We appreciate the commitment of our fans across the state," Amy Heard, Associate AD/Red Raider Club stated. "These events become unique chances for our fans and coaches to interact and ultimately celebrate being a Red Raider"
For Kingsbury, the San Antonio stop will mark his first as the head coach of the Red Raiders and his last, while wearing the Scarlet & Black, since playing in the 2001 Valero Alamo Bowl against the Iowa Hawkeyes. Kingsbury grew up just north of San Antonio in New Braunfels where he rewrote the records book at New Braunfels High School and then again at Texas Tech from 1999-2002.
