Bayly arrives at Texas Tech after spending three highly successful seasons at Division II Columbus State (Ga.) where she was one of the top defenders in the country and was twice named an NSCAA All-American.
As a junior in 2012, Bayly was pivotal in the Cougars' strong postseason run as the squad advanced to the third round of the NCAA Tournament. Now, she will look to add to an already strong Red Raider defense which features 2012 All-Big 12 First Team and two-time NSCAA All-Region selection Jaelene Hinkle.
Bayly is one of three players in Columbus State program history to twice be named an NSCAA All-American. An aggressive defender, she netted 16 goals during her three-year stint, six of which were game winners.
A three-time All-Peach Belt Conference First Team selection, Bayly anchored the top backline in the conference as the Cougars led the league with 13 shutouts in 2012. Her stellar defensive play helped Columbus State to conclude the 2012 season at No. 9 in the final NSCAA Postseason Poll - their third-highest finish in program history. The Lilburn, Ga. native netted a career-high seven goals, and added one assist on the season. Two of her strikes were game-winners.
Bayly was named the Peach Belt Conference Co-Player of the Year in 2011 after netting six goals during her sophomore campaign. She was also honored as the conference Defender of the Week on six separate occasions.
During her stellar 2011 sophomore campaign, she earned Defender of the Week honors on three straight occasions becoming just the second player in conference history to accomplish the feat.
Last year, she paced all Peach Belt Conference defenders with seven goals.
Texas Tech opens the 2013 season Aug. 23 when the Red Raiders travel to Albuquerque, N.M. to face the Lobos. The Red Raiders will host their home opener against Colorado State on Aug. 25 at the John Walker Soccer Complex.
