Oct. 26, 2012 - Texas Tech vs. Oklahoma State (FOX Soccer/NSCAA College Game of the Week)

LUBBOCK, Texas - Under the bright lights of the John Walker Soccer Complex and in front of a national television audience on FOX Soccer Channel, the Red Raiders closed the 2012 regular season with a thrilling 2-0 shutout of Oklahoma State. As part of the NSCAA/FOX Soccer College Game of the Week Texas Tech secured its school record 14th victory of the season, and at the end of the night a third place finish in the final Big 12 standings.

Freshman forward and eventual All-America selection Janine Beckie turned in her second of three multi-goal performances on the season to lead the Red Raiders to their fifth shutout at the John Walker Soccer Complex in 2012.

The Red Raiders and Cowgirls went scoreless in the first half before Beckie netted her first goal of the match in the 55th minute of play off a deflection inside the six-yard box. She then connected on a stellar strike in the 71st minute beating All-American goalkeeper Adrianna Franch to her left to give the Red Raiders a 2-0 advantage and all of the momentum they needed to seal the victory.

In front of the net, junior Victoria Esson posted her fifth shutout of the season.

The night ended with fireworks lighting up the sky as Tech celebrated its regular season finale and looked forward to what would be a strong postseason run.
