LUBBOCK, Texas - Eight returning players and sixteen newcomers to the Texas Tech soccer roster will report to campus Tuesday afternoon as they begin preparations for the 2006 season. TTU brings in one of the most highly recognized recruiting classes of the year.

The squad will start their new season with physicals, a team meeting, and a team dinner on Tuesday before hitting the field Wednesday morning. The preseason schedule includes morning workouts and training sessions, followed by afternoon ball work, stretching, and team building activities, and will wrap up with team practices in the evenings. The first scheduled scrimmage is slated for the evening of Wednesday, August 16.

The Red Raiders will work through 15 days of preseason activities in preparation for their first match of the season. They will hit the road to take on the University of Texas - San Antonio on August 25. Play at R.P. Fuller Stadium will open on August 27 against Texas Christian University at 1:00 p.m. The soccer squad will meet with eight non-conference opponents before their Big 12 opener with Texas on September 22.
