LUBBOCK, Texas - Former Texas Tech soccer player Kim Cypert will be honored as a flag bearer in Saturday's Graduation Ceremony held at the United Spirit Arena. Cypert, a native of Sugar Land, Texas, will graduate ranked second in her class and receive a bachelor's degree of fine arts with a specialization in painting.

"I've loved my time here at Texas Tech getting to play soccer and study painting," Cypert said. "This is obviously a big deal to me."

Cypert was named to the Academic All-Big 12 first team three times in her career. During her four seasons, Cypert logged two goals and an assist, while playing in a total of 72 matches.

"We are very proud of Kim Cypert and the manner in which she has represented our program and the university both on and off the field," Tech head coach Tom Stone said. "Kimmy is a great example of what it should mean to be a "student-athlete," and she has left a lasting impression on everyone at Texas Tech that has had the pleasure of working with her."
