Women's Soccer Thanks Supporters for European Trip August 23, 1999 LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's soccer team returned back to campus today after a 10-day European tour with stops in Holland and Germany. The Red Raiders' trip could not have been possible without all the support from the university and the community.
"I would like to thank all the people who donated money to the Texas Tech Women's Soccer team for the European trip," said head coach Felix Oskam. "I especially want to thank President Haragan and Chancellor Montford for their financial contributions because without their support this trip would not have been possible. I would also like to thank the Database Company from Holland, who generously allowed us to use their cellular phone while in Europe."
Texas Tech compiled a 4-0 record on their trip with victories over a team from Holland, a team from Belgium and two teams from Germany.
"The trip was a big success, not only from an athletic competition point of view but also from a cultural point of view," said Oskam.
Tech will open the 1999 season at No. 9 Nebraska Friday, Aug. 27 at 7 p.m.
