LUBBOCK, Texas - The No. 23 Texas Tech soccer team continues its season-long five match homestand this weekend as the Red Raiders host Idaho State and Long Beach State at the John Walker Soccer Complex.

Tech opens the weekend Friday with a primetime match against Idaho State at 7 p.m. The Red Raiders then host Long Beach State for a Sunday evening match scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

"We're excited for these two matches on our home field," head coach Tom Stone said. "We had a great start to our season last weekend and now have a chance to face two quality opponents. We have a strong tradition of Sunday night games just being great here, so if we can get through Friday night we should have a great atmosphere on Sunday."

The Red Raiders are among just two Big 12 teams to not have allowed a goal in the 2013 season. Tech has outscored opponents 7-0 in two matches while allowing just seven total shots.

Texas Tech (2-0-0) enters the weekend fresh off a 6-0 shutout of Colorado State Sunday at the John Walker Soccer Complex in which senior defender Hayley Haagsma netted two goals.

Both matches this weekend will be made available on TexasTech.TV

The Red Raiders have proven to be a dominant team when playing on their own turf. After going an impressive 9-1 at the John Walker Soccer Complex in 2012, Texas Tech has continued to protect its own home field opening the 2013 campaign with a dominant 6-0 shutout of Colorado State Sunday. The Red Raiders have won 12 of their last 13 matches at the John Walker Soccer Complex dating back to Oct. 2011, and have gone 29-9-1 at home since 2009.

The Texas Tech defense has yet to give up a goal in the 2013 season. The Red Raiders are one of just two Big 12 teams (Baylor) to have not given up a goal in the 2013 season. In fact, Tech has given up just one shot on goal and seven shots total.

The Red Raiders have proven to be dominant in the second half of play during the last three seasons. In 2012 alone, Tech outscored opponents 29-10 in the second half. In the last three seasons combined (2011-13), Tech has outscored opponents 47-21 in the final 45 minutes of play. This year they have continued that trend ,outscoring their first two opponents 5-0 in the second half. Against Colorado State last week, Tech went off for four goals in the second half - the most by a Tech team in a single half of play since 2011 when the Red Raiders netted five in the second half against Arizona State.

Texas Tech senior defender Hayley Haagsma turned in a career day Sunday against Colorado State in the Red Raiders' 6-0 blowout. The Cerritos, Calif. native recorded her first career multi-goal game scoring twice and leading Tech to their sixth-consecutive win in a home-opener. Haagsma has paced the Red Raider attack thus far in 2013, leading the team in shots with nine (four of which have been on goal) while scoring two goals.
