AMES, Iowa -- Sophomore goalkeeper Lynley Hilligoss tallied 18 saves and one assist as the Iowa State women's soccer team (1-1) shut out Big 12 opponent Texas Tech 4-0 Sunday at the ISU Soccer Complex.

Sophomore Erica Florez got ISU on the board right away with a goal at 6:01 off assists by junior Krista Odenwald and Hilligoss. Florez lit up the board again a few moments later, scoring on a breakaway at the 15-minute mark that gave ISU a 2-0 halftime advantage.

Odenwald added two goals of her own in the second half, knocking in an unassisted goal only 27 seconds into the half and adding a goal at 49:20 off the assist by Florez.

Texas Tech outshot ISU, 18-14, and Tech goalkeeper Kellie McCallister made seven saves in 90 minutes. Hilligoss recorded her first shutout of the season with an 18-for-18 performance.

The Cyclones will host the Cyclone Classic this weekend, kicking things off with a 4 p.m. match Friday against Western Michigan. Loyola University Chicago will face Ball State at 2 p.m. Friday at the ISU Soccer Complex.
