LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech swept the Big 12 Offense and Defense Player of the Week honors Tuesday as sophomore forward Janine Beckie and senior goalkeeper Victoria Esson were recognized by the Conference for their performance this weekend.
The Red Raider duo helped Texas Tech to a pair of shutout victories over Arizona State and Arizona at the 2013 `Cats Classic in Tucson as the squad extended its winning streak to four matches.
In Sunday’s 2-0 victory over Arizona, Beckie scored twice marking her fourth career multi-goal game. Meanwhile, she tallied her second game-winning goal of the season and seventh of her career helping Texas Tech to improve to 7-1 for the first time since 2010.

In front of the net, Esson picked up back-to-back shutouts to bring her season total to five and career total to 19. Esson made four saves in Tech's 1-0 overtime victory against Arizona State Friday before making two saves in Tech's 2-0 win over Arizona.
Esson has allowed just one goal in the last four matches.
Esson has now been named a Big 12 Player of the Week five times in her career while Beckie has earned the recognition on three occasions.
