Esson Makes History with Fourth Big 12 Weekly Honor|

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech's Victoria Esson earned her third-straight Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week award and becomes the first player in Big 12 history to win the honor four times in a single season.
Esson made six saves over the weekend in shutting out Baylor, 0-0 in double overtime and Oklahoma, 2-0. She now has seven shutouts on the season and has helped tie a school record with 10 in a single season. The Red Raiders are unbeaten and have held opponents scoreless in their last seven matches.
Tech will face Texas A&M this Friday, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. at the John Walker Soccer Complex. Fans are encouraged to blackout the Aggies starting Friday night. The match kicks off the Toys for Tots toy drive that the United States Marines holds every year.
