Oct. 12, 2009
LUBBOCK, Texas - FSN Rocky Mountain officials announced Monday morning that Texas Tech's soccer match at Colorado Oct. 30 would be broadcast over the network's affiliates in the region. The match is set for a 4 p.m. CT kickoff from Prentup Field.
The match is the first to be broadcast during head coach Tom Stone's three years in Lubbock.
Stone and lifelong friend and Colorado head coach Bill Hempen will be meeting for the third time on the collegiate level. Hempen was a groomsman in Stone's wedding, while Stone is the Godfather to Hempen's daughter, Emma. The Red Raiders won the duo's' inaugural meeting in 2007, while Colorado won last year's contest, 3-2, in Lubbock.
The match will be the 14th all-time between the two schools as Colorado holds a 10-2-1 advantage, with wins in nine of the previous 10 meetings. Tech is 1-4 historically in Boulder.
The Red Raiders wrap-up their home schedule this weekend against Oklahoma State at 7 p.m. Friday. Tech will recognize its seven seniors prior to kickoff as it will be their final match at the John Walker Soccer Complex.
