LUBBOCK, Texas - A crucial weekend of Big 12 play opens Friday night when Texas Tech travels to Fort Worth for a primetime matchup with conference newcomer TCU at Garvey Rosenthal-Stadium. First kick for the match is set for 7 p.m.

"We love playing in the Metroplex," head coach Tom Stone said. "It's obviously a huge Red Raider haven and there is always a lot of red in the stands at TCU. We love that, and we are looking forward to getting all of our family and friends that are in the Metroplex together at the game."

Friday will mark the first of a two-game road trip that concludes Sunday in Lawrence when the Red Raiders face Kansas at 1 p.m. at the Jayhawk Soccer Complex.

Texas Tech (12-4, 3-2 Big 12) enters Friday on a two-game winning streak and as winners of five of its last six games. The Red Raiders swept a pair of games last weekend including a 1-0 shutout of Texas in Austin before picking up a non-conference victory with a convincing 3-0 win over Francis Marion at the John Walker Soccer Complex.

The Red Raiders have won three straight matches against the Horned Frogs dating back to 2009 and have not dropped a match in Fort Worth since 2007.

Texas Tech is led offensively by one of the top freshman in the Big 12 in Highlands Ranch, Colo. native Janine Beckie. The Sept. 18 Big 12 Newcomer of the Week has paced the Red Raiders with nine goals this season, leading all Big 12 freshmen, while also adding four assists. Three of her strikes have been game-winners while she leads the conference in shots with 81.

Tech has three players who have netted at least five goals this season as sophomore Paige Strahan is second on the squad in scoring with seven goals followed by junior Jessica Fuston who has connected on five.

The Red Raiders will return home next week to host the NSCAA/Fox Soccer College Game of the Week when they take on Oklahoma State on Oct. 26 in a primetime nationally televised match at the John Walker Soccer Complex.
