Red Raider Soccer Set For Last Weekend on the Road

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's soccer team is set to hit the road for its last weekend of road matches. Kick off against the Tigers of Missouri is slated for Fri., Oct. 22, at 7 p.m. Tech will then head to Cape Girardeau, Mo., to battle the Indians, Sun., Oct. 24, at 11 a.m.
Tech women's soccer continued Big 12 action on the road this past weekend as they traveled to Lincoln, Neb., and Boulder, Colo., to face the Cornhuskers and the Buffaloes, respectively.
Despite the scoreboard, the Red Raiders had one of their strongest showings in Big 12 action. Carrying over the intensity from the second half of the Oklahoma match, Tech came out fighting against the Cornhuskers. The Tech defenders held the Big 12's leading point and goal scorer, Brittany Timko, to one assist on the evening. The Red Raiders halted the Cornhusker offense, limiting it to just 10 shots on goal.
Tech was then shut out by Colorado, 7-0. Megan Knauss got her sixth start in goal and posted two saves, totaling her saves for the weekend at nine.
Missouri currently leads the series with Tech, 5-4-0. In the last meeting between the two teams, the Red Raiders defeated the Tigers, 3-1, in Lubbock. Missouri is 6-9-1 overall and 3-5-0 in Big 12 play. The Tigers are ranked eighth in the Big 12 standings.
This will mark the first match-up between the Red Raiders and the Indians. SE Missouri is 8-4-2 overall and 3-2-2 in Ohio Valley Conference play. They also stand in fourth in the OVC rankings.
